Next BCA Meeting

Monday 19th March. We'd love to see you there, 8pm Sutherland Memorial Park Hall.
Read about the last two talks given at the BCA meetings -
Ms Madeleine McGowan Director of Communications and PR from the University of Surrey and
Karen Lewis from Carers' Support, Guildford.

The Brambles (St Mary's)

Bellway homes have begun development of the old St Mary's Catholic Church site. The first phase was due for completion in spring 2011, with the final phase due to be completed in August 2011. We understand that Bellway have taken on board residents complaints about noise, disruption and lack of consideration of immediate neighbours.

The Green Man (Harvester)

The Green Man was demolished in December 2008, workmen turned up with a police escort to do the job. For more background on the recent history of the Green Man click here.

Vehicle Activated Sign

Councillor Graham Ellwood has also reported that he has used his special council fund to purchase a vehicle activated sign which flashes the speed limit and reminds motorists to slow down. It will be used initially on Burpham Lane. We hare hoping to see a big impact on speeding traffic, especially near the primary school.

Free Bus Passes

From 1st April 2011, selected Surrey libraries will be the only place where you can apply for a free bus pass. Existing passes are still valid. For further information go to www.surreycc.gov.uk/ or call the contact centre on 03456 009 009 or pick up a leaflet at your local library.
