GAIN Meetings
Guildford Anti-Incinerator Network was founded in September 2000 by a group from the BCA in response to an application to build a large scale incinerator on a piece of land on the Slyfield industrial estate, only separated from Burpham by the A3. GAIN successfully helped to get the application rejected by Surrey County Council. GAIN now are currently active in all sorts of areas, not just watching for any further plans to build incinerators but, just as importantly, helping the public be more aware of the need to recycle and reduce waste.
