Burpham Youth Club

Are you aged 12 to 16 years and live in Burpham? This is a new and exciting club just for you. Meet up with other Burpham young residents every Friday night during term time at Burpham Village Hall between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.

Alternative Bridge Club

"We are a friendly group who play duplicate bridge on Tuesdays at 7.30pm at the Cricket Pavilion, Burpham. New members are very welcome. Partners are not required. Please ring Mary [505389] or Jan [826930] for further details."

Redecorating classrooms

If anyone is interested in spending a weekend morning or afternoon repainting a classroom at George Abbot school, please contact the webmaster.

Monthly GAIN Meetings

The Guildford Anti-Incinerator Network meet on the first Friday of every month at 8pm in the Sutherland Memorial Park Hall in Burpham. Occasionally, the meeting date may be altered. Check their website here.

The group was founded in September 2000 by a group of members of the BCA in response to an application to build a large scale incinerator on a piece of land on the Slyfield industrial estate, only separated from Burpham by the A3. GAIN successfully helped to get the application rejected by Surrey County Council. GAIN now are currently active in all sorts of areas, not just watching for any further plans to build incinerators but, just as importantly, helping the public be more aware of the need to recycle and reduce waste.
