Did you know that there are several 'active' Neighbourhood Watch schemes in Burpham? These are managed by Surrey Police, and co-ordinated by local people on a voluntary basis. Their purpose is dedicated to ensuring that we all feel safe and secure in our homes and in the village of Burpham. If you would like to know who covers your area, (or would like to become a co-ordinator), contact our local Police Community Support Officer on 0845 125 2222.

Of course, such schemes will only work if we are all prepared to 'do our bit' in respect of watching out for our neighbours and their property. So, if you are in any way concerned about a non-urgent matter (something that feels 'not quite right'), please contact the local police on 0845 125 2222. They would rather you called them - even if you feel it might be wasting their time - than having to solve a crime later.

If you feel uncomfortable - for example, someone trespassing in your own or someone else's garden, or any other emergency, then dial 999 immediately. Again they will not feel that you are wasting their time, and would be more likely to control the situation and prevent it happening again if they receive a prompt phone call.

If you would prefer to give information on non-urgent matters anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
